Crossroads 

I’m currently reading a book called ‘Dug Down Deep’ written by Joshua Harris and just having read the first chapter I’m already digging’ it. I had to re-read the whole 1st chapter again! What really made me ponder was the story he pointed out about Josiah.. and anyway, while in my bed already with my eyes shut as I was waiting to fall asleep the image of the crossroads that you see popped in my head! The next day I was able to make the image I saw in my head and added verses I read that day that I believe fit right in with what Joshua Harris was explaining about it. Thank you Lord for giving me this concept! I haven’t done graphic designs in a while (Hehehe..) 

A piece of what I read in Dug Down Deep:

“This is what the Lord says:

“Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.” (Jeremiah 6:16)

In Jeremiah’s words you see a description of King Josiah’s life. His generation was rushing past him, flooding down the easy paths of man-made religion, injustice and immorality. 

    They didn’t stop to look for a different path.

    They didn’t pause to consider where the easy path ended.

    They didn’t ask for a better way.

But Josiah stopped. He stood at a crossroads, and he looked. And then he asked for something that an entire generation had neglected, even completely forgotten. He asked for the ancient path.” —Dug Down Deep written by Joshua Harris

There are two paths in life, one that leads to destruction and one that leads to life..In times like these where everything is almost as instant as noodles! and is fast paced how many people in our generation are wise enough to STOP like Josiah did and see if the path they are taking or following is actually going to lead to a better end at the end of their life? Hopefully the scripture helps us realise to pause and make sure that we’re taking the righteous path and to evaluate our lives and decisions we’ve been making cause the decisions we make now will determine the path we’ll end up in the future.

Life is made out of decisions. Everything is a decision. Where are your decisions taking you? What will your future look like with the people you’ve decided to listen to and follow?

As I found some wise advice in Proverbs 4, 

“14 

Don’t do as the wicked do,
and don’t follow the path of evildoers.

15 

Don’t even think about it; don’t go that way.
Turn away and keep moving.”

you need to ask yourself a question..Who’s Path Have You Been Following?

You have to consider that the major case is People around your life have usually the most impact of where your life is going or how it’s going to end up. Who are you listening to? Who are the people you’ve been making your decisions around, Who’s influencing your decision making? Are they righteous and wise ways? Do they end you in trouble or make you improve as a person?

Well these are very wise instructions to keep in mind and to follow,  

Proverbs 4: 25-26

“Look straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you.

Mark out a straight path for your feet;
stay on the safe path.

Don’t get sidetracked;
keep your feet from following evil.”

In proverbs, we are being asked to Straight ahead, and fix our eyes on what lies before us. God has put something before all of us to set our minds to which mostly has to do with what He’s called each of us to do here on earth. It’s important to know what God called you on this earth to do so you can dive fully into your calling and destiny! Like Jesus had an assignment and He had looked straight ahead and had fixed His eyes on what He was sent on this earth to do. when He came into this world. He was sent here for YOU and me. He had a path to take and at the end of that path He saw YOU. He was thinking this is all for YOU. Looking into the future, He saw us, Free from sin, blessed, holy, pure, set apart, being able to now approach God the Father, the creator of Heaven & Earth! because of what Jesus did. He chose the path that ended in ETERNAL LIFE. He’s so gracious that He’s even given us the free choice to choose from both paths.. life or death. 

When you take God’s path you will start to shine brighter and brighter 

as with the world’s way, you’ll end up stumbling into things instead of clearly seeing where you need to be. We all need a lit path or we won’t know where we’re going.. Honestly, to truly know that is.. to get into word of God because it lights up things in our minds that we never knew before and makes us see things clearly and gives us wisdom for every situation in our lives. THE BIBLE HAS AN ANSWER TO EVERYTHING (And I’m not just saying that, it really does have answer to everything if you just take time to look it up.) And when you follow it, you’ll definitely end up in the path you where destined to be. Discover it for yourself and dig deep.. it’s more valuable than treasures and gold, it’s alive and life giving! 

One last beautiful verse for y’all to ponder, 

Proverbs 4:18-19

“The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn,
which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.

But the way of the wicked is like total darkness.
They have no idea what they are stumbling over”
